Carrie rescues a man who seems like Mr. Right, only he turns out to be a stalker. Leigh, meanwhile, starts dating Sam, the adrenaline junkie, again and wonders if he is still keeping secrets from her.
Two young and good looking spear fishermen, RONNIE and ERIC, get into trouble when Eric accidentally shoots while Ronnie is in front of him. Ronnie’s hand is pinned to the coral reef. Meanwhile, Sam (the adrenaline rushing pilot from Dangerous Games) has come back into Leigh’s life. He has been sending her post cards and calling her. Carrie thinks Leigh’s crazy for not going for him. Suddenly, Sam shows up behind them. He wants Leigh to date him again. Their reverie is interrupted by Eric’s cries for help. The trio immediately spring into action. Eric has now been caught in the fishing line and is also in trouble. Using their best efforts and ingenuity, the trio is able to save Eric and Ronnie. Ronnie is taken to the hospital.
Eric is very grateful to both Carrie and Leigh, but he seems to take an especial interest in Carrie. The two of them go out on a date. Carrie really likes him, and finds herself opening up to him in a way she hasn’t before. The next day, he is on her front door step, ready with breakfast. Although she’s still enamoured of him, there’s something funny about the way he seems to know things he shouldn’t about her past, and some of her likes that he couldn’t possibly have known independently, such as the fact that she likes soy milk. Over the next few days, this feeling becomes more and more bothersome. This comes to a head when Carrie comes home with Zack, talking about how different things are between being a trainer and a trainee. Zack is glad she doesn’t pull rank on him. After Zack leaves, Eric emerges from the shadows. He’s been waiting for her. He tells her that he’s the guy who’s going to change her life. He’s spoken with her friends, which is how he found out she likes soy milk. He knows all about her. Sean begins to sense that something’s wrong with Carrie, and offers to be a friendly ear. She’s still not ready to voice her suspicions.
The next day, however, when Carrie does not show up at work, both Sean, Jason and Zack get worried. They head for her apartment, and just in time, too, for Eric has once again broken into Carrie’s apartment. This time, he means business. If he can’t have her, nobody can. He lunges at her. She falls, hitting her head on the table. He realizes he will have to kill her, so turns on the gas. Just then, Sean, Jason and Zack show up. They break in and rescue Carrie. Eric lunges at them and there is a tremendous struggle. Eric manages to escape out the front door. Sean catches him and brings him in.
While this is going on, Leigh’s situation with Sam takes a few interesting turns. For one, Sean realizes that he is jealous of Sam, but has to let Leigh go since he’s not ready to have a relationship with her. Leigh is puzzled by his sudden change in attitude. Then, Leigh begins to have doubts about Sam again. Sure, he is every bit as attentive as ever, but she begins to fear that he is hiding things from her. He cancels a date because he’s still on Molokai, yet she thinks she sees him at the hotel. Later, she sees men handing him a package. Realizing that he is still keeping things from her, she confronts him. He confesses that he’s in a special undercover division of the Navy. The two men pick Leigh up in their car and confirm what Sam’s been saying. Sam tells Leigh he really loves her, and wants to commit to her. She thinks she’s ready to try for a longer term re-lationship, too.
Because of what happened, Carrie decides she can no longer be a lifeguard. She no longer will feel safe saving people and does not have the passion. Sean is sorry to see her go, but realizes that if she is not going to be committed to lifeguarding, she does not be-long on the team. Zack makes a last ditch effort to convince her to stay. Even though she likes him, she feels she must move on. Zack understands.
