30 years after ‘Baywatch’, Pamela Anderson kissed her bimbo persona goodbye. The 57-year-old actress, who rose to fame in the ‘90s for playing CJ Parker, a sultry surfer in the TV series, recently revealed she had left her days as a sex-symbol far behind. According to a Radar Online report, the actress once defined by her iconic red swimsuit and image as a global sex symbol, has now become renowned for her advocacy in animal rights and her support for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Today, Anderson is transforming her career once more, now gaining recognition as a serious actress with Oscar buzz surrounding her latest film performance.
At the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain, Anderson’s new movie, The Last Showgirl, earned a standing ovation and glowing reviews. Speaking at the event, the 57-year-old star reflected on her next life chapter.
In a conversation with Hello!, she shared, “I think reaching your 50s as a woman is something truly empowering.”
“I feel like I’ve stepped off the emotional rollercoaster that defined so much of my earlier years,” she said. “Much of it feels like a blur, but here I am, equipped with so much life experience.” She continued, “A large part of my career was rooted in physicality, which has been both challenging and enlightening. This journey has helped me reconnect with my true self, pushing me to embrace my identity on my own terms, defined not by others’ actions toward me, but by my own choices. It’s been about nurturing a passion for my work, maintaining joy in the process, and not becoming bitter or disillusioned with this industry or life.”
Anderson’s personal life also became a focus of public attention after her turbulent marriage to rocker Tommy Lee, the father of her two sons, Brandon, 28, and Dylan, 26.
Following her marriage to Lee, Anderson went on to experience four brief marriages to singer Kid Rock, poker player Rick Salomon, producer Jon Peters, and bodyguard Dan Hayhurst.
Public fascination with Anderson surged in 2022 with the release of the miniseries Pam & Tommy — a project she revealed was made without her consent, describing it as “deeply hurtful” to her.
