As Father’s Day approaches, Mitch receives a mysterious package that his father made for him before he died, while Logan grapples with horrifying flashbacks that begin to interfere with his ability to lifeguard.
Mitch’s mother Irene gives Mitch a mysterious package his father had put together before he died. Mitch and his father never saw eye-to-eye on Mitch’s choice to make lifeguarding a career, so Mitch is curious to discover what is inside the package. To his surprise, it is a scrapbook of all the high points of Mitch’s career. Hobie is impressed by this display of his father’s heroism, but Mitch is confused, realizing that he may not have known his father as well as he thought.
Logan doesn’t remember his father at all, but the sight of fire prompts deeply hidden memories that become even more intense when Mitch and Logan have to save victims from a burning boat. Logan finds himself mesmerized and frozen by this event. When Matt confronts Logan about this, demanding answers, Logan angrily responds that he would like some answers, too. To find them, Caroline brings Logan to a hypnotist, who helps Logan recall the most traumatic event of his life.
