Mitch’s impending birthday prompts him to train for a grueling ironman competition, along the way being swept off his feet by a younger woman. Matt, meanwhile, takes a night job to save money for a motorcycle, jeopardizing his co-workers through his exhaustion.
As Mitch prepares for another birthday, he decides to enter the grueling ironman competition.
Even though he technically qualifies for senior division, he opts to slug it out with younger competitors, much to the delight of Garner, who documents Mitch’s training on video. While on a workout, Mitch rescues a stunningly beautiful young woman, Destiny Desimone, who believes that she and Mitch are fated to become soul mates. Smitten by Destiny’s beauty and amused by her New Age vocabulary, Mitch commits to discovering his inner self, which helps push him in the competition.
Matt meets up with a mysterious motorcycle dealer, Rebecca, who makes him an offer on a bike he can’t refuse. In order to come up with the necessary cash, he moonlights at a local grocery, packing produce, and dragging himself to the beach every morning. Stephanie and CJ confront him about his late hours and fatigue on the job, but he dismisses their comments. Later, however, Matte fails to back up Summer when she is knocked unconscious by a panicked drowning victim. She is underwater for critical minutes before she is rescued and narrowly avoids drowning. Later, at Mitch’s birthday party, Rebecca brings Matt his new bike and he delivers her the $3000 in cash he agreed to pay. The transaction concluded and Rebecca gone, Garner inspects the bike and discovers that it is stolen. Matt is back to his bicycle and learns a hard lesson about responsibility.
