The Galaxy Girl competition is in town. April and Jessie volunteer to help out the officials with all aspects, including hiring a celebrity host. Excited about their challenge, but wondering who they can entice to help out, they stumble upon George Hamilton lying out on the beach. They decide to give it a try, but he insists that he isn’t George Hamilton, he’s Earl. Convinced that he is and eager to put him in place as the host, the girls go along with the charade of Earl.
Meanwhile, Newmie and Alex have been spending more and more time together, windsurfing, Sea-Dooing, working out, etc. Newmie tells Mitch that he thinks Alex has ‘the hots’ for him and is planning on making “a move.” In casual conversation, Mitch mentions Newmie’s intentions for Alex, who is speechless. The idea the Newmie has ‘the hots’ for her changes her whole perspective on their blossoming friendship.
Back on the beach, Earl approaches April and Jessie with his list of demands, including a massage, full wardrobe, a limo, etc. The girls agree — he’s George Hamilton. As the competition gets underway and we are introduced to all the competitors, Earl’s demands become increasingly difficult to deal with. But, he is the star.
Newmie has finally made his move, he invites Alex to grab a beer, but takes her instead to a secluded spot up at Point Dume, where his chef, Armond, has prepared them a feast. As Newmie checks on dinner, Alex panics and calls Mitch for help. Mitch tells her she’s a big girl and that she can take care of the situation. Alex pleads with him — she doesn’t want to hurt Newmie’s feelings. Mitch agrees to come to the rescue. As Newmie returns to the table, he is sporting an incredibly tasteless toupee! Alex groans… this is getting worse by the minute. By the time dinner is served, Alex is frantic. Every car she hears, every person she spots, she hopes will be Mitch coming to the rescue. Finally Mitch does show up, in fishing gear. Alex tries to drag him to the table while Newmie tries to get him to leave. Alex realizes it’s up to her. She takes a deep breath and gently lets Newmie down easy. As Newmie begins to see this for what it is, Mitch’s fishing line pops over and yanks off his toupee!
As the muscular Galaxy Girls continue the swimsuit portion of the competition, Earl decides to take a moment for himself and begins singing a heartfelt rendition of “Feelings.” As April and Jessie look on in amazement a voice behind them inquires who the fool is up on stage. April and Jessie turn around, then double take. It’s the real George Hamilton. They’ve been had! As Earl realizes he’s been found out, he jumps off the stage and takes off running, with April, Jessie and the real George Hamilton on his heels.
