Mitch takes Cody paddleboarding in the hope that he will cheer up. Cody is depressed because Lani has announced she is engaged. Out on the water, they come across a magnificent yacht. On the deck is a Nordic beauty, Ariana, playing the violin with great skill. She sees Mitch and Cody and flirts with them. Suddenly her guardian, Lena Svenson, appears and slaps her. She runs inside, and Lena glares at Mitch and Cody.
At headquarters Alex presents a new piece of equipment she thinks the Baywatch team should have: a windjet rescue vehicle, which comes with Sea-Doos at the bottom. She demonstrates the benefits of the new contraption, but Mitch remains unimpressed.
Mitch and Cody are curious about the yacht, so they investigate and discover it has no harbor clearance. Mitch asks Cody about his attraction to Ariana, and Cody says he is ready for a new relationship. They go back to the boat to make sure Ariana is okay.
Alex is infuriated at the way Mitch is treating her. She has been a lifeguard since she was eighteen, but he treats her like a rookie. Jessie understands because she isn’t even officially a rookie yet. She still has to go for her physical test and a written exam. She asks Alex to help her prepare.
Back at the boat, Ariana fights with Lena, who wants her to stay in her room and practice. Ariana wants a life outside of music. After the door is closed, Ariana puts on a tape to make Lena and bodyguards Troy and Erik believe she is practicing. Then she dons a bathing suit and dives out the window. Erik and Troy realize her treachery when the decoy tape gets stuck. Erik gets in a zodiac and speeds after Ariana. Mitch and Cody see him pull up beside her and order her to get on his zippo. Mitch tries to interfere, but Erik says he can handle the situation. Ariana says she is tired and gets into the zippo, shooting a forlorn look at Mitch and Cody.
Mitch and Cody board the yacht to see if Ariana is okay. They tell the crew that the yacht needs to be registered. Lena comes out and tells them that Ariana was trying to escape – from her violin lessons. Ariana arrives and confirms Lena’s story. She invites them to her recital the next night at the home of wealthy industrialist Miles Clayton. She also expresses interest in taking swimming lessons with Cody.
Jessie is ready for her final rookie swim when Alex arrives, wearing a bathing suit. She has decided to take the test with Jessie to prove she is a fit lifeguard.
At the recital, Ariana plays beautifully. Miles is impressed and takes Lena aside to discuss money. Ariana sees that no one is watching her and bolts for the door, with Troy and Erik in hot pursuit. Mitch and Cody act on a hunch and go out to one of the Baywatch towers. Ariana is hiding there. She tells Mitch and Cody that her parents were killed in a car crash and Lena is her guardian. Ariana believes that Lena works for Clayton. She is tired of her restrictive life and wants to be a normal person…to eat a hot dog in peace. Cody takes her to Venice where she eats her first hot dog enthusiastically. Suddenly, she sees Erik and Troy watching her. Ariana and Cody escape into the Venice crowds with the bodyguards close behind.
Ariana and Cody return to the lifeguard tower. Cody accidentally sits on her violin bow, breaking it and revealing a rolled piece of paper inside. They unroll it and discover it is a Rembrandt etching. Just then, Erik and Troy show up at the door, brandishing weapons. Troy leads Ariana to the zodiac, where Mitch and Cody are tied up inside. Once they are left alone, Mitch knocks over the medicine cabinet and grabs the scissors to cut them free. Leaving Ariana behind, they sneak out and get a windjet to follow the zodiac. Alex, out in another windjet, points them in the right direction. Ariana sees them coming, and her widening eyes alert Erik, who starts shooting. Mitch and Cody splash water into the zodiac, causing the engine to stall. Seizing the moment, Ariana takes her broken bow and plunges it into the side of the zodiac. It starts to deflate. Erik and Troy give up.
Later, Mitch tells everyone that Lena will face charges for smuggling the etching. Ariana is grateful for their help. She has another recital that night and wants more hot dogs. Cody jumps at the opportunity.
