Matt Brody (David Charvet) returns to Baywatch, and is forced to deal with Neely, who wrongfully accused him of sexual harrassment, when they are both abducted by kidnappers seeking millions in ransom from a corporate executive and his wife. Meanwhile, Joey Jennings has to confront her past, which may threaten Mitch’s intended adoption of her.
CJ is closing her tower when she sees a familiar figure on the beach… Matt! After several months in France, Matt has returned to Baywatch in order to keep his lifeguard status current, but is vague when it comes to his relationship with CJ. As a result, their reunion is forced and awkward. On the other hand, Matt and Neely’s reunion is explosive.
In order to force them to work out their problems, Mitch sends Matt and Neely out on a Scarab together. They discover a man floating out in the middle of nowhere, barely alive. Bringing him aboard the Scarab, they revive him long enough for him to whisper the word “Monarch.” Neely remembers that they passed an anchored yacht earlier, and that may be the yacht’s name. Matt calls the Coast Guard to come take the man to a hospital, and when the helicopter leaves with him, Matt and Neely return to the Monarch. They stumble upon a group of commando pirates, who abduct Matt and Neely at gunpoint, and handcuff them together. The pirates have already kidnapped corporate executive Price Reynolds and his new bride, and are demanding $50 million in ransom, or they will be killed. Now, Matt and Neely will be killed as well, unless Mitch and the other Baywatch lifeguards can find them before time runs out.
Joey Jennings is getting more comfortable living with Mitch and Hobie, and is looking forward to the completion of her adoption as a Buchannon. However, her past as a con artist has caught up with her. A small-time criminal, Trapper, who uses a group of young thugs to do his dirty work, is demanding Joey pay back money that her mother owed him. Now, Joey is torn between telling Mitch about Trapper or doing one last con job, either of which could threaten her adoption.
