The lives of Mitch and the Baywatch lifeguards are thrown into turmoil when Mitch discovers that his mother is suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease… and she turns up missing.
Mitch’s mother Irene comes for her yearly visit to her son and grandson, Hobie. However, this year, Mitch realizes that things aren’t quite the same with Mom. Irene not only left her carry-on bag on the plane, but at first, she got on the wrong one. Though Irene writes it off as mere forgetfulness, Mitch worries that it’s something more serious.
Cody continues his Olympic training workouts with Stephanie, but she notices that Cody isn’t trying very hard. Cody admits that since his parents’ death the year before, he’s not sure whether he wants to compete in the Olympics anymore, because he’s lost all motivation to do so. Stephanie decides that Cody’s workouts will be easier, until he makes up his mind what he wants. When Logan finds this out, he uses Cody’s indecision against him, calling Cody a quitter in an attempt to keep Cody away from Caroline. However, Logan’s attempt backfires. Cody’s anger over being called a quitter serves as a new motivation for him. Now, Cody is determined more than ever to reach the Olympics, if just to prove Logan wrong.
Irene shows up at headquarters, frantic. She has forgotten where Hobie’s school is, and doesn’t know what to do. Mitch, concerned, insists that Irene see a doctor. The diagnosis is Alzheimer’s. That news is bad enough, but shortly afterward, Irene ends up lost and wandering through Venice. Now it’s up to Mitch and the Baywatch lifeguards to find her before it’s too late.
