Mitch contends with an unorthodox, risk-taking, Australian lifeguard, and rekindles his love affair with beautiful journalist, Kaye Morgan.
Mitch finds himself at odds with Wiley Brown, a lifeguard on an exchange program from Australia. Mitch gets angry with Wiley after a needlessly dangerous rescue and its resulting newspaper coverage by Kaye Morgan, Mitch’s old flame. Kaye is back from Europe and Wiley Brown’s rescue is her first story for the Venice Voice. Mitch complains to Stephanie that Wiley bends too many rules. Stephanie chalks Mitch’s attitude up to jealousy over Kaye’s attraction to the Australian lifeguard.
Meanwhile, a series of seemingly coincidental accidents beset Mitch. A snake winds up in his locker, then the brakes fail on his lifeguard truck moments before it hurtles over a cliff. Mitch jumps out in time to save himself, but grows increasingly suspicious of Wiley. Stephanie, alarmed by the accidents herself, checks Wiley’s past and discovers that his wife drowned in a tragic accident off Australia’s Gold Coast. The attending lifeguard was young Mitch Buchannon, in an exchange program from the U.S. After fifteen years, it seems Wiley may have come to exact revenge on Mitch. Stephanie rushes to warn him, but it’s too late.
