When Mitch and Stephanie board a yacht disguised as wealthy southern honeymooners, in order to capture a group of modern-day pirates, they find themselves attracted to each other’s assumed character.
A professor and his yacht disappear, as his wife is found floating dead in the ocean. Their close friend, Stephanie, refuses to believe that her former professor is capable of murder. So, when Garner reads a newspaper account of a similar incident on the high seas involving a wealthy couple, Stephanie convinces Mitch to don disguises with her and borrow a friend’s yacht in an attempt to lure the murderers into a trap. When Stephanie puts on awig and sultry dress, not unlike Maggie from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Mitch puts on a dinner jacket and mustache resembling Rhett Butler, they find themselves passionately attracted to each other’s character. However, the plan goes awry when Garner, in a trailing boat, loses Mitch and Stephanie just before they are boarded by the mysterious killers! Shackled and held at gunpoint, Mitch and Stephanie must find a way out of their deadly masquerade.
