Mitch finds himself falling for an Italian actress who is being stalked by ruthless, follow-home robbers. Meanwhile, CJ and Stephanie help Guido pretend to be a lifeguard in order to impress his visiting mother.
On a routine patrol, Mitch rescues beautiful Italian actress Lena Fiori from the water. There is an obvious mutual attraction as they say good- bye. However, when Lena leaves the beach, she is followed home and robbed at her rented Malibu beach house. Mitch brings Lena to his house, where Hobie cooks them dinner and Mitch tries to calm her down. While filming her movie the next day, Lena spots the robbers, and Mitch gives chase. They escape, but fearing her ability to identify them, they show up later at Lena’s house as she arrives to pack her belongings and move out. Mitch and Garner arrive just in time to save
her and capture vengeful robbers.
Meanwhile, Guido pleads with CJ and Summer to help him pretend to be a lifeguard while his mother visits from the old country. Fearing her shame, he never told his mother about his part-time job as a maintenance man, and had instead written that he had become a lifeguard. Guido’s charade is put to the test when he finds himself rescuing a small boy from the water. After administering mouth-to- mouth resuscitation, the boy recovers. Shaken by the incident, Guido gives up lying to his mother and confesses his true job. Surprisingly, she never believed him in the first place, but is proud of him nonetheless. In fact, she has something to confess herself. She is not visiting her son–she has come to move in with him. Hit by a ton of bricks, Guido tries his best to maintain a smile on his face.
