Mitch falls for a beautiful woman he has rescued, never dreaming she is actually a murderess.
In an estate situated on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, Allison Fowles–a beautiful seductive woman–murders a man by luring him with a passionate embrace, then handcuffing him to the bottom rung of a ladder in his pool. The next morning she leaves the house with his body in the back seat, and a briefcase full of stolen money. When she is spotted by Drew, her ex-partner, he gives chase in his car. Allison loses control, and her car goes careening over the edge of the road into the water below. Mitch, on the beach nearby, witnesses the accident, and manages to pull her from the car before she drowns. Not realizing that the man in the back seat was already dead, the lifeguards believe he drowned in the accident.
Unfortunately for Allison, the suitcase full of money is stuck in the
trunk of the car until it can be brought up the next day. Realizing that Mitch might be her way out of a bad jam, Allison brings him back to her house and seduces him. Later that evening, Drew breaks into the house. Mitch catches him and the two men struggle, but Allison has
the final word when she pulls a gun on Drew and kills him, saying it was her husband who had threatened to kill her. She talks the police into letting her go, spending a passionate afternoon with Mitch. Eddie, who has been suspicious of Allison from the start, gets a coroner’s report
that proves the man in the car was drowned in chlorinated, not salt, water. He tells Mitch, who at first does not want to believe him. Nevertheless, the evidence is overwhelming and Mitch rides out on his Scarab to arrest her. He confronts her with the evidence and she pulls a
gun on him. Eddie and Connors pull up just in time to hear a shot ring out, which sends a chill down their spines. Have they arrived too late?
