Written by Glenn A. Bruce and David Braff
Two thieves lose their loot under a lifeguard tower and Shauni is swept off her feet by an eccentric beach poet.
After a midnight jewelry heist, two bumbling cat burglars, Beggs and Clark, stash the goods under a lifeguard tower. The next day, they return to reclaim their treasure, but to their consternation, it is missing. Desperately searching the beach for their lost fortune, they turn on each other with deadly results.
Meanwhile, Shauni is being wood by romantic beach poet lan. With his trusty metal detector and his battered typewriter, lan keeps Shauni supplied with a plethora of beach trinkets and a stream of love poems. Intrigued by his Bohemian lifestyle and moved by his poetry, Shauni cultivates their friendship. In many ways, lan is everything Eddie is not-sensitive, romantic, and intellectual. When lan accidentally discovers the stolen jewelry, it is just the inspiration he needs to make a play for Shauni. He buys a tux, gets a shave, and covers her tower in roses. He proposes a midnight dinner on the beach followed by dancing. Shauni accepts and they spend a fantasy-filled evening together.
lan’s fantasies, however, turn dangerous when the real robbers realize he’s found their cache. And it will take more than poetry and roses to get him out of this mess.
