Nightmare Bay

Written by Michael Berk &Douglas Schwartz

Mitch saves the life of an underwater photographer after she is attacked by a supposed “sea monster,” which the press quickly picks up on, throwing the community into a panic. Meanwhile, Shauni rescues an inner-city girl from drowning.
Something is in the bay… something mysterious… something deadly. An underwater photographer, Linda, is attacked inside a sea cave. Her boat is destroyed and her partner is killed, but she is rescued by Mitch. Terrified, Linda’s somewhat disjointed account is misconstrued and therefore overblown by Kaye Morgan, a newspaper reporter covering the story. Mitch and the Baywatch lifeguards find themselves dealing with an often comical yet dangerous situation created by media hype and speculation that there is a “creature in the bay,” which brings out all the fruits and nuts of California.
Meanwhile, Shauni undertakes a dramatic rescue that saves the life of a nine-year old girl from the inner city. But this rescue doesn’t end when the girl is pulled from the water… Shauni feels compelled to save the child and her family from “drowning” in a world of gangs and poverty.
At the same time, an environmentally conscious lifeguard returns a seal to its natural habitat, while an offshore oil drilling opponents put t h e heat on a local company involved in drilling.
Just when the “creature in the bay” hysteria has almost blown over, the situation escalates when a fishing boat ensnares something huge in its net, only to be dragged backwards and pulled underwater by the mysterious entity below the water’s surface. Panic invades Santa Monica…

After Shauni rescues a nine-year old girl from the inner city, she feels compelled to save the child and her family from “drowning” in a world of gangs and poverty. Meanwhile, Harvey is feeding off the local panic, making a small fortune selling “creature in the bay” t-shirts, but that quickly comes to an end. When the Baywatch Lifeguards catch him, they also solve the mystery of the “creature in the bay.”
