A fisherman tricks new lifeguard Megan into rescuing him in order to attack her.
When he continues to stalk her, Mitch has to find a way to stop him. Meanwhile, when Shauni suffers from lifeguard burnout, Eddie takes her on a romantic weekend getaway, which quickly turns passionate.
While taking marine samples one morning, Megan, alifeguard and marine biologist, spots a man on a rock jetty who falls out of sight and doesn’t reappear. Running to the rescue, Megan finds him in a sandy area between the rocks. By the time she realizes she’s been set up for an attack, it’s too late. Although Megan is able to break away and swim to safety, she is still an emotional victim, all the more when she learns that a French stewardess (one of many stewardesses who live in condos around the Marina) was attacked on the beach later that afternoon by a nan wielding the same, distinctive fishing knife.
With the support of the other lifeguards, Megan deals with her feelings of anger and powerlessness. Her attacker, who Mitch figures out is a fisherman, becomes obsessed with “the one that got away”–namely
Megan. He pursues her, finally capturing her under the pier. In a
suspenseful and chilling sequence, Mitch rescues Megan and captures her attacker.
Meanwhile, Shauni–who has just had to deal with yet another fight on the beach–is suffering from lifeguard burnout. Eddie heeds Mitch’s advice to take Shauni away for a romantic weekend, in which they both get swept away with desire.
